FiRGI Storage Trays: Comparing 4, 6 and 12 Sections

04 Oct 2026
FiRGI beige silicone portion tray with six sections and lid

Compare the number of sections and the stated capacity of each section. A tray with more compartments does not necessarily hold more in each one, and a larger storage container is a different format from a portion tray.

Read the capacity per section

Tray option Sections Stated capacity per section
Beige 6-section tray 6 1oz
4-section tray 4 1.7oz
12-section tray 12 0.7oz

Start with what you want to store

Smaller separate portions can be useful when you want to take out one item at a time. Larger sections may suit a different preparation routine. Decide how many individual portions you want, then compare the capacity in the listing. These product capacities are not feeding portions or recommendations for a child’s meal size.

Measure the space where you plan to keep the tray. Compartment count cannot tell you whether it will fit a freezer drawer, and stacking several trays needs room for their lids. Check the product dimensions before choosing a set for a small freezer.

Tray, lid or storage container?

A compartment tray is different from a single larger container. Read what is included, including the lid and the number of trays. Do not assume another tray’s lid will fit because both products use silicone or belong to the same brand.

The 26oz storage-container listing is a larger container format. Compare its specification separately rather than treating it as a six-section tray. The colour and format also matter when reordering: keep the original product name or packaging details.

Cleaning and food storage

Use the care instructions supplied with the exact product. Do not transfer a temperature limit, dishwasher setting or microwave instruction from another listing. A lid may have different care requirements from the tray. This guide does not claim independent material testing or certification.

Keep food storage decisions separate from the tray’s design. The NHS guidance below covers preparation, cooling, storage and reheating for babies; a silicone tray does not change those food-safety steps. Label what you store so that a similar-looking portion does not become an unidentified item.

Before buying

  • Check the capacity of each compartment.
  • Confirm tray quantity, colour and whether a lid is included.
  • Check the outside dimensions against your available space.
  • Follow the exact product’s care instructions and appropriate food-storage guidance.
